Our 12th Interviewee is Robin ,
who manages Melting Munich
1 - Before
we start properly Rob, tell us a little about yourself , Name , Age (if you
want), Sex, Job,where
you live etc .....
Well I am 36
years old and usually referred to as the more mature and sensible member
of the Brown clan. Sensible because I left the UK for greater places and greater
things. I was fed up with the red tape in the UK and had, had enough. So
I embarked upon a new chapter in my life. I call
this chapter “Self Preservation”. That was in 1997. Anyway moving
on to answer more of your question, I like sex and have been known to take
up the act every now and again.
Finally my job,
well not many people know it and I am never one to advertise as others do.
I won’t name names but let me tell you, I know someone who took advantage
of the fact his wife was
giving birth to leave a load of Mobile phone holders, mugs, pens and papers
all bearing his
company name. Now his wife had just given birth and he works for a company
selling health insurance. Can’t remember his name but rather crafty.
Me I’ll just
say I work for a company that makes “Brown Sauce.” No it’s not Daddies, anyway
never actually seen the bottles of sauces but for sure deal with plenty
of “Brown Sauce” every day.
2 - When
did you join and how do you know our Organiser Cliff.
I joined the
fantasy league three seasons ago and have since entered many times. Once
I
entered and pretended to be two lesbians and managed to upset practically
everyone in the
league including myself. I know the organizer purely by coincidence,
we both share the same
Mum, Dad & Brothers and Sistser, how freaky is that!
3 - What
if any football team do you support and how do you think they'll do this
season?
Of course I
support a football team and have supported the same team all my life. I am
a Liverpool supporter and believe we will do well this year. I will safely
say and don’t want to be too ambitious
as we have recently appointed of all people a Spanish Manager, anyway
I think we will finish in the Top 20.
4 - Where
do you expect to finish in the Fantasy league & Cup this season?
Well I have
improved season by season and think this year I will just enter one team
and
concentrate on that one, so I think I will improve further. I am also
contemplating joining in the
pursuits of the winner for the last two seasons and that is to bribe Yahoo
to give me extra points
for appearing to look younger than my daughter and passing myself off
as Michael Owen in
German pubs.
Sad news yesterday
I had two Rabbits and one died yesterday and I believe the organizer has
agreed to hold a cup competition in his honor, so I would be very proud to
bring that trophy home
to put with Bundy’s Ashes, maybe even store them in it.

- What car do you drive?
I drive a Skoda
Felicia; it’s a very nice car and is very economical. It looks great
and is a real
pulling machine. I have had great success driving the streets of Barcelona
in it. The girls just want
to jump in and get it on. So I won’t be changing it, I have considered
renting it out to people so they too can feel the pulling power of my Skoda.
Sometimes for fun I will tease other road users.
Specially Ferrari drivers at traffic lights and on the Motorway. I will
act all cool and sophisticated
and then burn ‘em off and just laugh at them.
6 - What
type of music do you like?
If you’re asking
me what music do I like? Or what is music to my ears? I will have to answer
that Manchester United losing and being knocked out of all competitions is
absolute beautiful Music to my ears.
As for what
music do I like, well I have varied tastes, I like Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams,
Avril Lavigne, Puddle of Mudd, Aerosmith, ACDC, Metallica & Many many
more. No real favorite except what I stated for Music to my ears.
7 - Favourite
TV Programme ?
I Suppose I
would have to day that “The Bill” would be my favorite TV Programme, I think
it is great and I just love it.
8 - Favourite
Film ?
Well not really
a film buff, but I would have to say Me, Myself & Irene. Nearly died
laughing, and if
you haven’t seen it then you just gotta got see it. It is great, fantastic
super.
9 - If
you were the manager of the team you support and you were granted 3 players
in & 3 players out , cost immaterial , who would these be ?
Well I will
take this Question a little further for you; I would have to be the Manager
of Manchester United and in the Champs League Final and it’s gone to a Penalty
Shoot Out. Like all penalty
shoot outs they will be nervy so you want your best players up there to
take your first three penalties and my three to go out would be, Ruud Van
Nettlesting, Ryan Van Giggs, Roy “Dirty Bastard” Keane. In would come, David
“Pretty Boy” Beckham, Darius “You stupid Pratt” Vaseline and Olaf “at me
taking a penalty” Melberg. If wish to extend this to my first five I would
have to have Gareth “Miss” Southgate and finally Michael “Waste of time”
Owen, With the first three up for the kicks you just know your not
going to score so you don’t have to worry about the outcome of the Penalty
shoot out. Add the other two and it’s in the bag your going home with a silver
medal.
10 - What's
your pet hate ?
Seeing Luke
Chadwicks face as I am eating.
11 - If
you were stuck alone on a desert island and a genie granted you 3 things
you could have with you on that island what would they be?
Bring it on
Genie, well I would first of all ask for Caza to be with me on one side of
the Island,
second I would ask for Maria Sharapova to be on the other side of the
Island. Then Finally I would wish for them both to have very short memories.
12 - You've
just become Prime Minister, what's the 1st policy you'd introduce?
I would ban
Manchester United Football Club from playing football, making it illegal
for them to
exist.
13 - If
you were to describe yourself as a car , what would you be and why ?
I would be nothing
more than a car that speaks for itself in every way and in fact was named
after
me. Tonight Clifton I will be “Robin Reliant”. It’s extraordinarily rare,
steady fantastic for thrills and spills and would always manage to turn heads.
Further more as the name suggests it’s reliant!
14 - What's
your favourite past-time?
My favorite
past-time is watching Manchester United lose. Particularly when Southampton
hammered them 7 – 3 I think it was and then seeing them cry about the shirts
they were wearing
in the 1st half of that game. Absolutely fantastic that is.
15 - You've
just won £5 million pound on the lottery , what's the 1st 3 things
you buy ?
A house in Spain,
A house in Portugal & a House in the US.
16 - As
1 of our few International members tell us a little about where you live
?
Well I live
in Barcelona or just outside of it and it is fantastic. Great weather, beaches
near by and
not just one or two but very many. There is a great football team here
and going to their stadium is amazing. The biggest football stadium in Europe.
Went to a match that kicked off at 00:35 one
night and it was amazing, 85,000 people turned up to watch the game. Mind
you the Spanish are
so tight it was probably so many just for the free food they put on for
the game.
Anyway it’s
a great place to live nothing more I can say.
17 - With
a growing interest in Spanish Football in the UK and your locality tell us
who you think will win La Liga this season ?
Well I must
say I think it will be a two horse race between Barcelona and Valencia. I
think
Barcelona will just about beat them in the end. Watch out for them in
the Champs League as well. They are strong and that great guy Ronaldinhio
is amazing. He has some talent and major respect
to him for turning down Manchester United.
18 - Got
any funny stories to share with us about Barcelona since you moved there?
Well as it happens
I do have one, not sure if it will come across well on the mail but here
goes.
One bright Saturday
afternoon Caroline and I took off with Murphy for a long walk around the
Village we live in. There are many dogs around the area so it is always entertaining
when you hear them all barking at Murphy. Anyway this one particular day
we were innocently minding our own business when we were being tailed by
a little mutt with a big plonker. Murphy was he usual playful self and
after about 600m or so the little thing finally left us alone.
Anyway after
walking and walking we decided it was time to go home and we made a point
to
avoid where we had picked up the dog that was stalking us. Anyway we walked
and walked and eventually there it was this little “Bastard Scary” Dog from
hell. He followed and followed, I contemplated picking him up and throwing
him in someone’s Garden and then legging it. We sent the thing off in one
direction and would run off in another. Even Murphy got freaked and was running
fastest of all to get away from this mad crazed dog from hell.
But sure enough
this little Mutt caught up with us and we were stuck with him, Caza and I
racking
our brains to know how we could get rid of this dog. Anyway we came to
like a triangle in the road and we got it to trot off in one of the direction
and we pretended again to follow. It was working he was really falling for
it. So we all three turned and ran, we got to run down a hill and I can tell
you I have never run like it before, Caza too but funniest was Murphy he was
really freaked.
We were free
and finally peacefully heading for home, when we turned a corner looked up
the hill
and saw this little shit bounding down the hill. It was freaky. So we
ran again and were promptly caught up by this creature from hell. We gave
up trying to get away from it until we were about 50m from home. So I devised
another follow the little bastard leader plan and gave Caroline the keys to
home. At this point convinced he knew our every move we whispered to each
other the master plan. It was that Caroline would run home open the gate and
the door and Murphy and I would follow once we had distracted the little monster.
We set the plan in to action Caza belting up the road as if being chased
by a mad axe murderer and Murphy and I acting all casual as if our lives
depended upon it.
It had worked Caza had made it home and the little monster was still walking.
Then it was mine and Murphy’s time to make a run for it. We did it and we
were free from the Monster.
We still have
not been back that way for a walk since that day it was to scary.
Thank-you , Robin .
